The Pittsburgh Steelers Santonio Holmes has now been fined for his game winning touchdown catch celebration in the Super Bowl 43 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The NFL fined Holmes $10,000 for using the football as a prop during his post-catch celebration, which came well after the play ended. Holmes, impersonating NBA star LeBron James’ pregame ritual of tossing powder into the air, shook the football and tossed it. NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira said the celebration should have drawn a 15-yard penalty on the following kickoff. So my thing is , since there was no penalty called, why should he be fined? The No Fun League is really living up to its name again. To shed some positive light on the situation , the gloves Holmes wore was auctioned off for $70,200 , which will be donated to charity.
